As one of the first countries in which Asseco Solutions started, Austria has always been a central market for the midsized ERP specialist. Up to now, the entire country has been managed from the Austrian Asseco HQ in St. Florian. Due to the ongoing growth in demand and multiple new customer wins in and around Vienna, Asseco Austria is now expanding. A new subsidiary has been operational since March and its sales team is actively selling and implementing Asseco solutions in and around the capital. This enables the ERP provider to ensure more customer proximity and closer service in eastern Austria. In addition, the new office allows Asseco to lay the foundations for local activities and partnerships. It inaugurated its first collaboration – with Technikum Wien (the Vienna University of Applied Sciences) – in mid-May.
“With the large number of service providers and system integrators in the Vienna area, we believe that an ERP solution for midsized companies has very high potential here. There are also a lot of machine builders in the surrounding region, making eastern Austria an interesting market for us from the Industry 4.0 perspective. This combination is an ideal fit with our product range, which includes the SCS service and predictive maintenance solution we added in April, as well as APplus.”

Successful start for the Vienna office
The two sales teams share the new offices in the “NINETEEN – Bena Business Base” conference centre in Döbling, Vienna’s 19th district. The four-person staff is working on selling and implementing APplus as well as SCS. Asseco is already planning to boost the team and is currently recruiting project managers and customisation developers for the new subsidiary.
“We’re very satisfied happy with the way the Vienna office has developed,” notes Christian Leopoldseder. “Even in its early days, we were able to win some prestigious customers in the region. Also, our order book is looking very healthy for Austria as a whole. For this reason, we’ve decided to expand even more and open another subsidiary to cover western Austria. We’re planning to open this third office in 2017.”
Collaboration with Technikum Vienna
Along with providing more proximity to customers and prospects, the extended local presence also enables collaboration with strategic partners and research institutions. Asseco already kicked off a first partnership in May with Technikum Vienna, Austria’s largest technical university. It covers both research and teaching, as the Asseco solutions APplus and SCS are being used in Technikum’s Industry 4.0 lab. They handle communications and control between IT systems and intelligent machines, supporting researchers during the development of new smart factory processes. In addition, Asseco’s ERP specialists will be providing a series of lectures starting in the autumn, helping students learn about ERP in detail.
