5.3 Google tag manager
We use the Google Tag Manager.
Google Tag Manager provides a technical basis for bundling various web applications, including tracking and analysis services, and for calibrating, controlling and attaching conditions to a uniform user interface. Google Tag Manager itself does not store or read any information on user devices. The service also does not carry out any independent data analyses. However, Google Tag Manager transmits your IP address to Google when you access a page and may store it there. Transmission to Google LLC. servers in the USA is also possible.
5.4 Google Ads/Google Ads Pixel
We use Google Ads Conversion to draw attention to our offers with the help of advertising material (so-called Google Ads) on external websites. We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the advertising campaign data. We are interested in showing you advertising that is of interest to you, making our website more interesting for you and achieving a fair calculation of advertising costs.
These advertising materials are delivered by Google via so-called “ad servers”. For this purpose, we use ad server cookies, through which certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users, can be measured. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Ads will store a cookie on your device. The unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marking that a user no longer wishes to be addressed) are usually stored as analysis values for this cookie.
These cookies enable Google to recognize your internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of the website of Ads customers and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customers can recognize that a user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of Ads customers. We ourselves do not collect and process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can recognize which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising material; in particular, we cannot identify users on the basis of this information.
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our level of knowledge: Through the integration of Ads Conversion, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, there is a possibility that Google will find out your IP address and store it.
6. USE OF HOTJAR
We use the functions of the web analysis service Hotjar on our websites. The provider is Hotjar Inc. based at Level 2, St. Julian’s Business Center, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St. Julian’s STJ 1000, Malta.
We use Hotjar to analyze and regularly improve the use of our website. We can use the statistics obtained to improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user. On behalf of the operator of this website, Hotjar will use this information to evaluate the use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Hotjar server and stored there.
We use Hotjar’s anonymization function on this website[GvW1] . Dadurch wird Ihre IP-Adresse gekürzt und sichergestellt, dass die Analysedaten nicht persönlich identifizierbar sind. Wir führen die Daten nicht mit anderen personenbezogenen Daten zusammen.
We only use the tool with your consent, which you can give via the cookie banner; the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR [GvW2] .
7. USE OF VWO - VISUAL WEBSITE OPTIMIZER
We use the VWO service on our websites. VWO is an analytics service provided by Wingify Software Private Limited, 404, Gopal Heights, Netaji Subhash Place, Pitam Pura, Delhi 110034, India.
VWO enables us to use “A/B testing”, “click tracking” and “heat maps” to track the effects of various changes to a website (e.g. changes to input fields, design, etc.).
A/B tests are used to improve the user-friendliness and performance of our online presentation. For example, users are shown different versions of a website or its elements, such as input forms, on which the placement of the content or labels of the navigation elements may differ. The behavior of the users, e.g. longer time spent on the website or more frequent interaction with the elements, can then be used to determine which of these websites or elements are more likely to meet the needs of the users.
“Clicktracking” makes it possible to monitor the movements of users within an entire online offering.
“Heatmaps” are mouse movements of users that are summarized into an overall picture, which can be used, for example, to recognize which website elements are preferred and which website elements users prefer less. Cookies are only stored on users’ devices for these test purposes. Only pseudonymous user data is processed. For more information, please refer to the Visual Website Optimizer privacy policy: https://vwo.com/privacy-policy/.
If you do not want the Visual Website Optimizer to record your usage behavior, you can object to data collection by clicking on this link: https://vwo.com/opt-out/.
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent in accordance with Section 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
8. USE OF MICROSOFT ADS/UET TAG
We use Microsoft Advertising (“Microsoft Ads”) on our websites. Microsoft Ads is an online advertising program of Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA (“Microsoft”).
We use this technology to show you interest-based advertising on other websites in the Microsoft advertising network.
If you access our websites via Microsoft Ads advertisements, a cookie will be set on your computer. A UET tag is also integrated on our websites. This is a code that is used in conjunction with the cookie to store pseudonymized data about the use of the website. In combination with the cookie, the tag collects pseudonymized data in order to track which actions you take on our websites after you have clicked on an advertisement on Microsoft Ads. Among other things, the time spent on the website, which areas of the website were accessed and which ad brought you to the website are collected. In addition, Microsoft can track your usage behavior across several of your electronic devices through so-called cross-device tracking. The information collected is transferred to a Microsoft server in the USA. Microsoft is certified in accordance with the EU-US Privacy Framework.
The data is stored by Microsoft for a maximum period of 180 days. You can prevent the collection and processing of data by deactivating the setting of cookies.
9. social media
We use various cookies from social networks on our websites, about which we would like to inform you in the following paragraphs.
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent in accordance with Section 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
9.1 linkedin insight tag
The so-called Insight Tag of the social network LinkedIn is used on our pages. The provider of this service is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter “LinkedIn”). The LinkedIn Insight tag is a small JavaScript code snippet that we have added to our website.
The LinkedIn Insight tag enables the collection of data about visits to our website, including URL, referrer URL, shortened IP address, device and browser characteristics, timestamps and page views. LinkedIn does not share any personal data with us, but only provides aggregated reports on website audience and ad performance. LinkedIn also offers retargeting for website visitors so that we can use this data to display targeted advertising outside our website without identifying the member.
LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes in their account settings. To deactivate the Insight tag on our website (“opt-out”), click here. https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out
The LinkedIn Insight tag is used for the purpose of enabling detailed campaign reports and obtaining information about visitors to our website. As a LinkedIn Marketing Solutions customer, we use the LinkedIn Insight tag to track conversions, retarget our website visitors and gain additional information about the LinkedIn members who view our ads.
The data is encrypted, anonymized within seven days and the anonymized data is deleted within 90 days.
9.2 meta pixel (formerly facebook pixel)
We use Meta Pixel to measure conversions. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Meta”). However, according to Meta, the data collected is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.
With the help of the meta pixel, Meta is able to determine you as a visitor to our online offering as a target group for the display of ads (so-called “social media ads”). Accordingly, we use the meta pixel to display the social media ads placed by us only to those Meta users who have also shown an interest in our online offering or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics determined on the basis of the websites visited) that we transmit to Meta (so-called “custom audiences”). With the help of the Meta pixel, we also want to ensure that our social media ads correspond to the potential interest of users and are not annoying. With the help of the meta pixel, we can also track the effectiveness of the meta ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on a meta ad (so-called “conversion”).
If you are logged in to Meta (formerly Facebook) with your user account, your visit to our online presence will be noted in your user account. The data collected about you is anonymous to us and therefore does not allow us to draw any conclusions about the identity of the user. However, this data can be linked by Meta to your user account there. If you have a user account with Meta and are registered, Meta can assign the visit to your user account.
9.3 social media plugins
We also use the following social media plug-ins: Facebook, Twitter, Xing, LinkedIn.
We use the so-called two-click solution. This means that when you visit our site, no personal data is initially passed on to the providers of the plug-ins. You can recognize the respective provider of the plug-in by the marking on the box above its initial letter or the logo. We give you the opportunity to communicate directly with the respective provider of the plug-in via the button. Only if you click on the marked field and thereby activate it will the plug-in provider receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding website of our online offering. In addition, the data mentioned under section 2.1 of this declaration will be transmitted. In the case of Facebook and Xing, according to the respective providers in Germany, the IP address is anonymized immediately after collection.
By activating the plug-in, your personal data is therefore transmitted to the respective plug-in provider and stored there (in the USA in the case of US providers). As the plug-in provider collects data in particular via cookies, we recommend that you delete all cookies via the security settings of your browser before clicking on the grayed-out box or the logo of the plug-in provider.
We have no influence on the data collected and data processing operations, nor are we aware of the full extent of data collection, the purposes of processing or the storage periods. We also have no information on the deletion of the data collected by the plug-in provider.
The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses these for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to display needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website.
You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact the respective plug-in provider to exercise this right.
We use the plug-ins to offer you the opportunity to interact with social networks and other users so that we can improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the provision and use of the plug-ins is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
Data is passed on regardless of whether you have an account with the respective plug-in provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in with the plug-in provider, your data collected by us will be assigned directly to your existing account with the plug-in provider. If you click the activated button and, for example, link the page, the plug-in provider also saves this information in your user account and shares it publicly with your contacts. We recommend that you log out regularly after using a social network, but especially before activating the button, as this way you can avoid being assigned to your profile with the plug-in provider.
Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by the plug-in provider can be found in the data protection declarations of these providers provided below. There you will also find further information on your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy.

10. use of custom/matched audiences
We use the Custom/Matched Audiences targeting option. Custom/matched audiences are target groups that social network advertisers (such as Meta or LinkedIn) can create in order to target ads even more precisely.
Custom/Matched Audiences enables us to create a user-defined target group in order to place advertisements on social networks. For this purpose, we use the email addresses of customers who have given us their consent for advertising and transmit them to Meta or LinkedIn for database matching. The providers check whether the transmitted data can be assigned to a profile on the respective social network. If a corresponding user profile exists, our advertisements are displayed on the social network to the respective profile.
The service provider of Facebook Custom Audiences is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. However, personal data may also be transferred to the parent company Meta Platforms Inc.
The service provider of LinkedIn Matched Audiences is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland.
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent in accordance with Section 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
You also have the option of restricting the processing of your data for advertising purposes in the settings of your LinkedIn account and Facebook account. See the information on privacy settings: Managing your personal data | LinkedIn help or Customizing privacy settings on Facebook | Facebook help section

We have integrated videos on our websites via the video portal Vimeo. The provider is Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA (“Vimeo”).
