Growth based on digitalisation: new sales head Ralf Bachthaler joins management team at Asseco Solutions AG

Technological disruption is in full swing in midsized companies and they all need to develop and implement their own digitalisation strategy. As a business partner for midsized companies’ digital transformation initiatives, the ERP specialist Asseco Solutions AG is benefiting more than most from the segment’s growth potential. In order to keep up the momentum of this positive development, the company has appointed Ralf Bachthaler (50), a seasoned ERP sales professional, to its leadership team. As Chief Sales Officer at Asseco Solutions AG since April, Bachthaler already has overall responsibility for the sales function and was appointed to the company’s management team on 1st July 2018. He plans to use his expertise to help the company organise its structure to support strong, ongoing growth – including on an international level.

With his mission of driving further company growth and increasing market share, Bachthaler will leverage his many years of experience in international and key account sales. He began his career as an ERP consultant and project manager over 20 years ago, after obtaining his degree in industrial engineering. He moved into sales towards the end of the 1990s, joining the software provider Rembold + Holzer followed by the ERP specialist Brain. Following the acquisition of Brain by Infor in 2002, Ralf Bachthaler moved up through the ranks at Infor in various positions, including holding responsibility for all of the group’s new customer wins in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As a member of the European management team and Vice President Global Accounts, he managed Infor’s key account business throughout Europe for almost nine years.

Helping to shape a technological future

Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role, especially in view of the current shortage of technical specialists. This role includes robotics and its integration into ERP processes with more process automation. This is another area where Asseco Solutions already has a head start and initial practical implementations. The company is an innovative technology pioneer, so I’m very happy to be supporting it in sales and actively helping to drive the development of technologies that will be so important in the future.”

Sales goals: growth and international expansion

Asseco Solutions AG is currently enjoying a phase of above-average growth, due in part to its sales success over the last few years. Bachthaler sees one of his key tasks as maintaining and increasing this high momentum in new customer wins, while supporting the company’s large number of existing customers on their journey to becoming digital enterprises. Asseco customers themselves benefit from the current technological disruption in the midsized segment and from the positive economic situation. For this reason, Bachthaler emphasises the necessity of further international expansion, which he plans to drive in selected target markets based on his expertise in international business.
