Karlsruhe, June 26, 2023 - In our fast-paced IT world, 30 years is half an eternity: In 1993, the predominant operating system was still called Windows 3.1, the Internet was virtually a pilot project, and the Millennium Bug seemed a long way off. Also in 1993, AP GmbH was founded, the predecessor company of today's ERP specialist Asseco Solutions, which celebrates its thirtieth anniversary in 2023. Over the decades, the company has repeatedly acted as a technological pioneer - from the early use of web technology to Industry 4.0 to cutting-edge AI technology - establishing itself as a consistent force in the ERP market: Today, the company has more than 500 employees at over ten locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Poland and Guatemala and, as a subsidiary of the global Asseco Group, is part of one of the largest software groups in Europe.
"I see two main factors for our decade-long success story," explains Markus Haller, CEO of Asseco Solutions. "Firstly, the very good intuition of our technology experts as to which new developments and trends actually have potential for our customers and how these can be used concretely in meaningful ERP use cases. We had already succeeded in this at the beginning of the 2000s with our then revolutionary switch to web technology - a decisive technological leap from which we still benefit today, as it gives us the performance and flexibility we need to make effective use of the new megatrends such as cloud and artificial intelligence. An equally key success factor is our customers and partners, who in so many cases have relied on us for a long time and continue to approach us with new exciting projects, ideas and requirements. 30 years of technology innovation
Founded in 1993 as AP GmbH, the company quickly developed into a renowned provider of business software for medium-sized companies. At the beginning of the 2000s, P2plus was the first web-based ERP solution that could be used and operated completely in the browser by the user without software installation on the client - a major novelty at the time and still not standard in the ERP world today. Since 2007, the solution has been known on the market under its current name "APplus". After the takeover by the Polish Asseco Group, the company itself, together with its Austrian, Swiss, Czech and Slovakian sister companies, finally also changed its name to today's Asseco Solutions AG. In 2016, the company released SCS, a smart service solution for Industry 4.0 scenarios, before the next technological milestone followed in 2019: With its majority stake in Austrian AI specialist Salesbeat, Asseco Solutions acquired extensive expert know-how in the field of artificial intelligence. With APplus 7.0, intelligent technology finally made its way into Asseco's ERP world in 2020 - ushering in a new era in the handling of business processes.
