Perfect interaction between sales and merchandise management

Sales mainly processes quotations and order confirmations, delivery bills and outgoing goods as well as invoices. These basic functions require a wide range of detailed processes, which are essential in order to meet the needs of all customers and sectors. The spectrum ranges from foreign currencies and languages to framework agreements and individual price and discount agreements. Group structures must also be taken into account, as well as purchasing associations, serial number management and agency commission settlements.

In addition to handling standard sales from stock, our APplus ERP system also supports the complex processes involved in selling customer-specific products. In this way, we enable optimal integration of sales processes into merchandise management, for example in special machine and plant construction. Sales planning, granular packaging management, dispatch processing, transport organization and a specific module for rental contract management complete the range of services offered by our APplus merchandise management software.

Purchasing functions for merchandise management

The purchasing module of our ERP system’s merchandise management is clearly structured and flexible to use. It can be used to process inquiries, orders, goods receipts and supplier invoices of all kinds quickly and conveniently. Based on the article/supplier masters, a statement can be made at any time regarding expected costs or delivery times. Special bonus procedures and the quality of completed deliveries are also documented in a supplier evaluation.

APplus Purchasing is ideal for minimum-stock-controlled or strictly order-based scheduling. The module is controlled per article or order item. In our order processing software, one click is all it takes to access the original source of demand, i.e. the customer or production order. This is crucial if you need to react to changes in delivery dates or quantities. In addition, procurement costs can be allocated directly to the orders that caused the demand – an important advantage for contract or project manufacturers!

Warehouse management

Proper inventory management is essential for the company’s success. If stock levels are too high, they tie up important capital that is then not available to finance day-to-day business. The ERP module APplus Merchandise Management provides you with methods for strictly order-based planning in addition to classic scheduling procedures. This means that the procurement requirements needed for an individual order are ordered at short notice and in the exact quantity required – even before the corresponding order is complete. This effectively compensates for the often long delivery times.

Serial number management and batch-oriented inventory management are relevant for companies that have to fulfill long-term documentation obligations or maintenance and service tasks for devices that have already been delivered. Sales and production program planning make it possible to calculate long-term requirements in advance – even in the event of seasonal fluctuations. The planning and execution of inventories is significantly simplified with our ERP software module APplus Merchandise Management. Both a permanent and a key date inventory are possible, whereby the warehouses can be continuously booked in either case.

Inventory management in APplus warehouse management is particularly user-friendly. As the stock movements map the entire value flow within the company, this is of crucial importance. Overly complex booking functions increase the risk of incomplete work in day-to-day operations. This reduces the informative value of the business evaluations.

Where possible, the merchandise management module generates values and account assignments automatically during the posting process. This ensures business accuracy and reliability.

Use the Atlas process directly in APplus

The Atlas process replaces written forms and other documents for customs clearance with electronic messages in EDIFACT format. In cooperation with BEX Components, Asseco has developed and certified an AES component for APplus that meets all official requirements. This gives you all the tools you need for fast and smooth export. APplus ATLAS Export transfers the outgoing goods to the BEX component at the click of a mouse or via a web service. The plausibility check provides immediate feedback in the event of missing or incorrect information. BEX transfers the export application to the customs authority and also receives the approval or denial of the transaction – all electronically. The corresponding processing status can be tracked at any time in the ERP system module APplus Merchandise Management.

Mobile inventory management

Users with a high throughput within warehouse management in particular must be able to rely on their stock accuracy. Limited shelf capacities often make “chaotic warehouse management”, i.e. the multiple use of free storage space, indispensable. This means that the same items have to be managed in different locations, which is virtually impossible without a local IT system. Experience shows: The greater the distance of the booking mask from the action, the less accurate the stock quantities managed.

In such constellations, physical stocktaking in the form of inventory also requires local support that triggers quick and direct postings in the ERP system without additional effort. Together with our solution partner, we have developed an add-on with which the functions of APplus can be displayed on mobile devices without the need for complex additional programming.

Sales controlling

Business planning and control are particularly important in APplus. This includes detailed quotation costing and flexible evaluations for assessing sales success: contribution margins achieved, target/actual comparisons or the period income statement provide the necessary figures as a basis for managing sales success.
