Karlsruhe, 05.10.2023 – Higher levels of automation, more efficiency, less paper – in times of changing supply chains and ongoing inflation, switching to a modern ERP solution has become a key way for many companies to ensure their competitiveness. But what is the most efficient and fastest way to tackle such a migration project? The question of which concepts and methods currently exist for the successful implementation and further development of ERP system landscapes, where the advantages and disadvantages lie and which best practices have proven themselves in practice will be addressed at this year’s ERP Future conference for enterprise systems on October 11 at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. One of the participating exhibitors is Karlsruhe-based Asseco Solutions, which has developed an implementation method for its ERP solution APplus that can ideally reduce the implementation period to up to five months.
Traditionally, ERP modernization is no small feat – and such projects take time. According to the consulting specialist Trovarit, the duration of an ERP implementation project in traditional SMEs is currently ten to 13 months on average, and even longer for larger companies. Short-term remedies in times of increased competition are therefore often not to be expected. To counteract this problem, Asseco Solutions has developed its so-called “Fast Track Implementation” (FTI), on which the company experts will be providing information at ERP Future, among other topics.
In an RTI, APplus is initially implemented at the customer’s premises completely as standard and without any individual adjustments. The usual preparation phase prior to the start of the technical implementation, as well as an extensive and resource-intensive consulting phase, are not required. Proven best practices are used for the practical implementation. As no specialized adaptations need to be taken into account during employee training, this phase can also be completed in a shorter time. This efficient and lean approach makes it possible to reduce the implementation time to up to five months in the ideal case. Due to the solution’s proximity to the standard, its release capability is also ensured in a cost-effective manner.
ERP lecture: RTI in practical use
How such an implementation process actually works in practice will also be the focus of a specialist presentation on October 11 at 2.35 pm. Alexander Krempl, Director Sales Region South at Asseco Solutions, will show, among other things, how companies can benefit from the standardized implementation methodology without having to forego the specific requirements of their industry. Industry-specific, proven best practices play a central role in this, paving the way for successful live operation of the solution.
